DynamoDB is Amazon's fully managed NoSQL database, built for consistent, single-digit-millisecond performance at virtually any scale no servers to provision or manage, with throughput that scales with demand rather than a fixed instance size.
For workloads with unpredictable or very high traffic a service that needs to handle a traffic spike without a database becoming the bottleneck DynamoDB's managed scaling removes an entire category of capacity planning that a self-managed database would require.
